Criticism-
1. Local tribals belonging to the Tadvi tribe opposed land acquisition for the development of tourism infrastructure around the statue.
2. Project involves construction in the river bed and the proposed reservoir, close to sanctuary in eco-sensitive zone, and hence will have serious impact on both ecology and environment.
3. No public consultation has been sought for the project.
